What you need: 

Method:

  • Mix the pounded groundnut together with water to make a thin mixture, ensuring all the lumps have been removed.
  • Heat in a saucepan and leave to simmer, stirring now and again to ensure it does not stick to the bottom.
  • Onions, garlic and salt should be added towards the end.
  • Leave on the low heat until oil comes out on top. Serve with matooke, rice or ugali.
