In 2009, our business was born out of a need to feed our family and growing African community with organic East African food in Toronto, Ontario. We understand that food from every part of the world carries a uniqueness about it & there are some days and/or nights when pizza or burgers just don’t cut it.
Chakula-Tamu is a Swahili phrase meaning very delicious food.Swahili is the regional language spoken in the East African region. Chakula-Tamu imports and retails organic East African food specialties.
Plus, we like to think that we are adding more much needed East African flavor to the already diverse food menu that Toronto has to offer!
