There are different varieties of pumpkins. If you are familiar with Ugandan pumpkins or looking for something new to try, here is a quick recipe:
What you need:
- 1 medium-sized pumpkin
- Cut the pumpkin into pieces according to your preference, removing the soft in the middle that contains the seeds. (You can keep the seeds for a snack).
- Wrap the pumpkin in banana leaves and place in a saucepan with banana fibres underneath to avoid direct contact with water.
- Fill the bottom of the saucepan with water, properly cover it and steam covered for about 45 minutes.
- Use a double saucepan if you do not have banana leaves.
